We are Roman Catholic. We are what folks call "cradle Catholics", born and raised. But we didn't realize how much we took our faith for granted until our children were born. My (Kathy's) conversion really took place during the time that I was researching alternative forms of education, namely homeschooling.

The CrucifixCatholicity is a way of life, not just a way to spend our Sundays. Faith is woven into every aspect in our daily lives. It helps to determine the way we live, love, and learn. It is only by prayer, reading, and frequent reception of the Sacraments that this gift of faith can grow.

Researching Catholic home education brought us into the fullness of the Church and the understanding of true obedience to the Magisterium, the teaching body of the Roman Catholic Church. Research has led us to see the abuses in our schools and parishes and has given us the tools needed to help to counter these abuses and to build up the Domestic Church.

Some of the books that I've read that have led me into the fullness of Christ are:

"Rome Sweet Home" by Scott and Kimberly Hahn
"Fundamentalism and Catholicism" by Karl Keating
"Characters of the Reformation" by Hilaire Belloc
"How the Reformation Happened" by Hilaire Belloc

I urge all Catholics to read the encyclicals, the actual documents from Vatican II, and the Early Church Fathers.
