Note from Newsletter Editor

Hello Everyone!  Welcome back from the Summer!!!    I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing time . More then likely, everyone was EXTREMELY busy.   While we will miss the summer activities, we look forward to a busy school year, and hope that everyone will be very involved in EACH.  In this first newsletter you will find information about our traditional opening- of-the-year  "Blessing of the Books" as well as a planning meeting.

If you are unable to attend the planning meeting, do not worry!!!  The results of the meeting will be printed in October's newsletter Thank you to everyone who sent in their EACH directory information.  Those families who have not sent their information will have received a notice with this newsletter.  There will be a copy of the directory available at the September's meeting as well as at the planning meeting so that families will have the opportunity to read through it and make any corrections that  are needed.   A copy of the directory will be mailed to everyone with October's newsletter!!!    If you have not sent me your directory information please snail or Email it to me ASAP!!

Finally, please have information for the newsletters to me by the 15th of the month !!!  I hate to tell people "NO" when they ask if they have time to add something  "last minute!"   Please help me to get the newsletter out on time by not asking to put information in after the 15th of the month unless it is absolutely necessary!!!!  Information for the newsletter can be sent to the addresses above!!
Looking forward to a GREAT year!!

Thanks!!

God Bless!!!
  -Tara

   EACH Groups

Anyone interested in participating in any of the following "groups" listed below should please call or Email the contact person. Please do so promptly so we can begin to organize!!

Little Flowers

The Little Flowers is an organization whose goal is to provide young Catholic girls (5 and up) with an opportunity to gather and learn about their Catholic heritage, faith and tradition as well as other 'womanly' traditions that may have faded from view. Within the meetings of the Little Flowers the girls will hear, read, share, and learn about our role model - the Blessed Virgin Mary, our patroness - St. Therese of Lisieux, saints of the Church, women in the religious life, and their own mothers. The girls will gain a strong self-esteem in being a young Catholic girl as well as gain friendships that will support their own beliefs.

Meetings will be the second Friday of the month at Gretchen Lorei's home, 1429 South Hill Road, from 9:00am to 11:00am. (Call Gretchen for directions) Membership fee is: 15.00 first child or 25.00/family. (Membership fees provide money for the following: photocopies, craft supplies, mailings/postage, medals, miscellaneous expenses.)

Parents will need to provide each of child with the following: ·

Each parent is expected to take a turn each month in providing a drink and a snack to share. Parents of children 5 - 7 years old are expected to stay with their children for all meetings.

The first meeting will be September 8th (Mother Mary's Birthday!!!). At this meeting, please be ready with membership fee, aprons, index cards and 3-ring binder. This will be an introductory meeting and the snack will be provided. ALL mothers are expected to stay for this meeting. Please call me, Kathleen Peterson (774-0061) to RSVP for this meeting - I need to know how many girls to plan for. Please bear with us this first year as we iron out the 'kinks'. Success depends upon everyone's involvement, support, understanding, and prayers.

God Bless You and Your Families!

Wine & Spirit

Greetings Everyone: Mark your calendars and call your sitters, we're in for another delightful evening!

This next Wine & Spirit evening features our own Dr. Michael Coulter Ph.D. Michael is currently teaching at Grove City College and is planning to speak to us on the topic of sanctifying our work. This is the subject of a papal encyclical (don't ask me the Latin for it!). He will be speaking to us about how we can make our everyday work a sanctifying experience.

Please join us on Sunday August 27 from 7-9 PM at the Lorei House of Prayer (a contemplative community!) We're looking forward to seeing you there. As always, babies are welcome. Snacks and beverages are too but not necessary.

God bless, Paul & Gretchen
