Notes For EACH
EACH Groups
Anyone interested in participating in
any of the following "groups" listed below should please call or Email
the contact person. Please do so promptly so we can begin to organize!!
The Blue Knights
The Blue Knights are pleased to announce that we have 5 members and are looking
for more. The current curriculum that was supplied only serves boys 4 to 7.
They are working on another for older boys. Our first meeting will be in June.
Should any fathers care to participate please call me at 476-1927.
Little Flowers
Anyone that is interested in having their daughter (approximate age 6-9) participate
in this group please contact Tamara Swick at 454-3120 or Email EACHNEWS@aol.com
with the subject line "Little Flowers." We have several girls interested
already and plan to begin soon.
Mother's Breakfast Meeting
The next Mother's Breakfst meeting is on Saturday, May 27th. All mothers are
invited to join us in this monthly breakfast gathering for friendship, sharing,
and support. We will begin the morning with Mass at St. George Church on Peach
St. and then meet for breakfast at 9:00am at the Eat N' Park on upper Peach
St. No reservations will be necessary.
Help Needed at Curriculum Fair
Dear EACH Parents:
This Friday, May 5th is the Erie County Homeschoolers Curriculum Fair. Each
year, the Catholic Homeschoolers have had a table to display our Catholic curricula.
Kathy Wagner will be out of town this year and cannot be there. A volunteer
or volunteers are needed to be at the Fair in case Catholic families are looking
for help. Last year, Pat Berrier made a fabulous packet of homeschooling information
which could be copied for distribution. (Usually we only need 5- 10 copies.)
I know life gets crazy and our schedules are full, but remember when you started researching homeschooling . . . You wanted and needed personal contact. If we are not represented at this event, new Catholic homeschoolers may think there is no other option than to purchase secular or Christian materials (perhaps by antiCatholic publishers). PLEASE SOMEONE VOLUNTEER TO BE THERE!!
Call Kathy Wagner or e-mail me at markswagner@juno.com immediately so I can contact Ann Groendaal, the Fair coordinator. I will help making copies, gathering curricula, etc. I just cannot attend the event. This is a small way to evangelize. We can talk the talk about what our Faith means, but if we don't walk the walk, we are nothing.
Please pray about it (quickly) and get
back to me a.s.a.p.
Thank you.
Kathy Wagner
Trivia
By Matt Wagner
Whose was President of the U.S.A. during
the World War II?
What part of a plant are green peas?
Email your answers to Matt at: readamatt@juno.com . We will print the correct answers with those who got them right in the next newsletter!
JUNE's Graduation
Kathy Wagner is going to try to organize a graduation and awards ceremony for our June monthly meeting. If you are interested in having your children participate, please call Kathy at 774-8282 or e-mail her at markswagner@juno.com.
Kathy needs to get an idea how many people to expect in order to follow through with her idea for the evening. She is in the very primary planning stages, but would like to make it a special event for our group. Even if you are not certain if you want to participate, but MAY want to, CALL KATHY!
The information needed is: Family name, student's name and grade completed, and estimated number of guests attending ceremony. Family displays will be a part of the evening; these do not need to be elaborate. We don't want to teach our children to "flaunt" their gifts and talents, but to be justly proud of their accomplishments - while giving God the glory for these gifts.
Thank you for your help.
Cedar Point Trip
We're finalizing plans for the Homeschool Cedar Point Trip on Wednesday, May 17th. We depart at 6:30 AM and hope to return home about 11:30 PM The cost will be about $23 ea. if we get 25 kids K-12th grade.
Plus, if we do get the 25 kids we get
2 free adult passes plus 4 additional free passes--if we pay a week in advance
by credit card. ( If we don't have 25 kids, the price is $38 ea. with no free
tickets.) Six free adult passes and 23 bucks a ticket is a VERY GOOD DEAL.
And, because this will still be off-season we think there won't be too many
people.
So if you are at all interested PLEASE CALL ME NOW! We need a verbal commitment.
It seems unlikely that we'll reach our goal of 25 with E.A.C.H. kids only. Feel
free to invite family, friends and/or kids from the Erie County Homeschoolers.
If one of your children would like to go but you can't drive them, we would
be happy to. Please give us the number of children, their ages and the
number of adults.
Finally, we will make arrangements for
payments and drivers when we've reached 25.
THANKS!!! HANS LOREI

Summer Newsletter
As we have been doing for the past few years, there will not be a newsletter in July and August unless it seems to be absolutely necessary. Instead, please have any information needed for the summer to me in time for June's newsletter (May 25th). Thank You!!!
