| A rubber die (or rubber case) is a flexible rubber mold that is cast from the first Master Mold and is used to create duplicate plaster molds of the same design. The rubber compounds we use are some of the best in the industry and will last a very long time, giving you virtually unlimited access to new molds of your design. The mold compounds we use are RTV (room temperature vulcanized), and they are available in hundreds of different formulations with varying properties to work with thousands of different applications. When making a rubber die for ceramic mold reproduction, it is our preference to use high strength, high shore hardness materials. This allows little flex in the case mold, which produces a more consistent seam line. If we Sculpt your original design, create your Master Mold, and cast your Rubber Case, we will cast your first three ceramic casting molds for free! Each mold will average around 100 slip castings, so this should generate your first 300 pieces. Additional casting molds can then be quickly produced, keeping your production running at maximum efficiency. Key Benefits
The rubber itself is a compound that, when mixed in the proper ratio, hardens to a specific strength. There are hundreds of compounds for thousands of different applications. Contact us today to discuss your application.
