The original sculpture or design will represent what every subsequent casting will look like. Any inherent flaws will show up in the mold, thereby lowering the quality of the castings. When you choose to have our studio design your sculpture or prototype, you can rest assured that we will only produce the highest quality design for your needs. We have done miniature buildings, figurines, wildlife, functional pieces, logos, limited editions, collectibles, technically precise pieces and much, much more! Our sculptors come from different backgrounds and educational institutions, which is why we can offer so many different styles of design to meet or exceed your standards.
These photos are of an actual project that we completed a few years ago. The photograph on the left is of a rodeo clown, that our client wanted made into a cookie jar. The model on the right is the finished piece, prior to molding. The hat is the lid. We added the flower, changed the collar and a modified a few other things either to meet client specification, or to assist the molding process for ease of production.
Our pieces are hand crafted by very talented artists, and are designed with mold function in mind throughout the process. Although we can usually cast a mold from a model that you provide, it makes sense to have a piece designed exclusively for molding, to avoid potential problems with your production castings.
Here is an example of a work in progress. The model is about half complete, and is done in relief for the U.S. Navy.
