General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another coat of undiluted White.  Allow to dry.  Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.  Reminder: In this technique, sometimes more than 1 coat of TL is necessary so between each coat, the color must be sprayed in order not to lift the first layer.

Technique

1.       Apply Black TL to the cobblestones and sidewalk.  Wipe back highlights; spray.  Drybrush the cobblestones and sidewalk with Slate Gray.  For the cobblestones, randomly drybrush a few stones with Brick Red, Light Gray and Mink.

2.       Add highlights to the sidewalk and steps with Medium Gray; tip into Light Gray to further highlight sidewalk and cobblestones.

3.       For the building bricks, apply 2 coats of Ginger Oak.  Spray.  Drybrush highlights with Ivory Tusk.  With the same color, evenly drybrush ticket area panels.  Touch into White to add some highlights.

4.       Apply 2 coats of Golden Toffee to the trim bricks, trim of doors and around the ticket area.  Spray.  Apply Nubian Brown to the for the frame around the main marquis, frame around smaller marquis and around back door.  Spray

5.       Use Black Forest for the doors and the various sections of large marquis.  Refer to photo for color placements.  Spray.  Drybrush highlights with Limeburst.

6.       Apply Coal Gray to roof and wipe back highlights.  Spray.  Lightly drybrush with Medium Gray; tip into Light Gray to further highlight.

7.       Evenly drybrush the main areas of the marquis with White.  Refer to photo as needed.  For the smaller marquis, drybrush with Ivory Tusk.  Add favorite movie titles in Flat Black.  Spray.

8.       Apply Shimmering Silver to door hinges and handles and to stripes of marquis.  Apply Copper to remaining areas as shown in photo.

Please note:   Casters - If you would like the marquis to have a flashing back light, you need to cut a hole in the front of the building before attaching the marquis.  It is also advisable to cut out the letters and drill light holes prior to making the attachment.
