General
Directions: Begin with properly
cleaned and fired 06 bisque. Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get
into all detail. When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White. Allow
to dry. Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until
entire piece is covered. Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further
highlights and an overall even look to antiquing. Spray with Porcelain Mist to
set TL. Reminder: In this technique, sometimes more than 1 coat of TL is
necessary so between each coat, the color must be sprayed in order not to lift
the first layer. Refer to photo for color placements in various sections.
Technique
1.
Apply Black TL to the cobblestones, sidewalk, roof and the underside of
the front rounded corner. Wipe back, except underside of front corner, then
spray. Randomly drybrush cobblestones with Mink, Brick Red and Light Gray.
Lightly drybrush sidewalk with Medium Gray then tip into White to very lightly
highlight.
2.
Use 3 coats of White Cloud for bricks of building spraying between each
layer. If needed, evenly drybrush with White to achieve a solid color being
careful not to lose the shadows around windows and doors.
3.
For the trim and doors, apply 2 coats of Golden Toffee. Use Sunflower
for the signs. Paint lettering Christmas Red and detail lines with Flat Black.
Lightly highlight these areas with Lemon Meringue.
4.
Apply 2 coats of Hyacinth Blue to first floor window trims and second
floor window above door. Drybrush with Dark Blue then tip into White to lightly
highlight.
5.
Use Black Forest on all second floor window trims, gable ends and
alternating awning stripes. Spray. Refer to photo for placements. Drybrush
with Hunter Green then tip into White to lightly highlight.
6.
For the remaining awning stripes and all window frames, apply Brandied
Raspberry. Spray. Lightly drybrush with Razzberri then tip into White to
lightly highlight.
7.
Paint the kick plates and doorknobs Flat Black. Spray entire piece.
Heavily drybrush underside of front corner and top with Copper. On green window
trims detail with Glorious Gold; also drybrush highlights to underside of front
corner. Lightly drybrush kick plates and door knobs with Shimmering Silver.
Paint doorknobs, detail of corners on front windows and blue window trims
Copper.
