General
Directions: Begin with properly
cleaned and fired 06 bisque. Thin down White and apply over entire piece into
all detail. When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White. Allow to
dry. Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back highlights until entire
piece is covered. Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further
highlights for an overall even look to antiquing. Spray with Porcelain Mist to
set TL.
Technique
1.
Apply Gold Jubilee Twinkle to cobblestones, chimneys, foundation stones
and doors. Wipe back highlights with solvent. Spray. Use a second coat if
needed to achieve an even tone. Randomly drybrush a few cobblestones with Mink,
Brick Red and Light Gray. Lightly drybrush foundation stones and chimneys with
Light Gray. Drybrush flue with Ivory Tusk leaving center dark then highlight
with White.
2.
Apply Black Forest to grass. Gently wipe back highlights. Spray.
Highlight grass with Sunflower and Tangelo. Spray.
3.
Apply White Cloud to all logs, except trim logs around door, and
into crevices. Spray. Drybrush logs 2 times with Dark Umber leaving white
between logs. Tip brush into Flat Black to reverse highlight. Drybrush a bit
heavier where logs cross over each other creating a separation on corners.
4.
Use 1 thin coat of Cocoa Twinkle for roof. Spray. With same brush, apply
a good coat of Holiday Red to roofs and window frames. Spray. Lightly drybrush
roofs with Antique Red. Add highlights with
Orange then tip into Ivory Tusk
to further highlight. Highlight windows with Orange.
5.
Apply Ginny Tan Twinkle to all eaves, gable ends, side details, trim
above doors and trim logs at front door. Lightly drybrush with Light Umber. With
a clean brush, drybrush evenly with Ivory Tusk then tip into White to further
highlight.
6.
Apply Black Forest to leaves in wood details. Spray. Highlight one edge
with Sunflower and spray. Paint dots with Antique Red.
7.
Drybrush doors with Mink, then highlight with Ivory Tusk. Spray. Paint
roof caps and door handle plates with Flat Black. Lightly drybrush with Copper
then drybrush with Jade Green. Tip into White to further highlight. Paint door
handles Flat Black then highlight with Light Gray.
8.
Apply Hi-Gloss Sealer to all window frames, wood details on gable
ends/sides and door handles/plates.
