General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 04 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White.  Allow to dry.  Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights and an overall even look to antiquing.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set.

Technique

1.      Apply Black TL to the cobblestones and sidewalk.  Wipe back highlights on cobblestones and sidewalk to a dark gray color with Solvent.  Spray.

2.      Randomly drybrush a few stones with Mink, Light Gray and Brick Red.  Lightly highlight sidewalk with Light Gray then tip into White to further highlight.

3.      Use Jade Green on the bricks of the building.  Spray.  Drybrush bricks with Angel Blue.  Tip into White to highlight.

4.      Apply 2 coats of Black TL for roof, remaining window frames, square section of door and upper portion of sign.  Refer to photo as needed for color placement.  Spray.

5.      Use Cloud White for corner columns, window frames, frame around door, trim between floors and “light bar” at roof trim.  Spray.  Except for “light bar,” evenly drybrush all areas and sign detail with White.

6.      Evenly drybrush base of sign and the corner detail of door entrance with Royal Fuchsia.  Paint stripe on upper floor corner detail.  Drybrush detail above door and “wings” on sign with Bright Yellow.  Paint sign lettering with White.

7.      For the “light bar,” detail with Royal Fuchsia, White, Flat Black, Turquoise and Bright Yellow.  Paint column and door frame details with Royal Fuchsia, Turquoise, Bright Yellow and Flat Black.

8.      Drybrush window frames, record on sign and door with Light Gray.  Lightly drybrush roof and musical notes with Dark Blue then tip into Light Gray to lightly highlight.

9.      Spray entire piece.  Apply 2 even coats of Copper Penny to sign detail, trim under roof, door handles, detail around musical notes and lower portion of building trim.

10.  Apply 2 coats of Hi-Gloss Sealer to roof, record on sign, door trim and musical notes at corner columns.
