General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White.  Allow to dry.  Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights and an overall even look to antiquing.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.  Reminder: In this technique, sometimes more than 1 coat of TL is necessary so between each coat, the color must be sprayed in order not to lift the first layer.  Refer to photo for color placements in various sections.

 Technique

1.       Apply 2 coats of Slate Gray to the windows.  Spray.  Add wipers with Flat Black.  Lightly drybrush with White.

2.       Use Black TL for the tires and chrome detail.  Spray.  Paint white walls White.  Heavily drybrush chrome detail with Shimmering Silver.  Spray.  Paint headlights White, tail lights Christmas Red and any turn signal lights Orange.

3.       For the “Baby Blue” car, apply 2 coats of Light Patina to top part and 3 coats of White Cloud to bottom half.  Spray. Evenly drybrush top half Angel Blue then paint hubcaps. If needed, drybrush bottom half White.  Use Flat Black to paint a molding stripe; make it wide enough to paint a thin line of Shimmering Silver in the middle.

4.       Apply 2 coats of Black Forest to the “Woody” car.  Spray.  Drybrush with Hunter Green; tip into Glorious Gold to highlight.  Paint the “wood” panels Light Umber, trim with Lt. Yellow Orange then add detail of “wood” with Dark Umber.  Paint hubcaps Shimmering Silver.

5.       The “Cherry Red” car is 2 coats of Holiday Red to main body and 3 coats of White Cloud for rear fenders and ragtop.  Spray.  Drybrush body with Christmas Red.  Even out rear fenders and top by drybrushing with White.  Use White for molding and Shimmering Silver for hubcaps.
