General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White.  Allow to dry.  Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights and an overall even look to antiquing.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set.

Technique

1.       Apply Black TL to the cobblestones and sidewalk.  Wipe back highlights on cobblestones and sidewalk to a dark gray color with Solvent.  Spray.

2.       Randomly paint a few cobblestones with Brick Red, Light Umber, Wedgewood Blue and Light Gray.  Lightly highlight sidewalk with Light Gray then tip into White to further highlight and add walk path.

3.       Use Hummelized Flesh for the foundation stones and brick on the body of the building.  Spray.  Drybrush with Light Umber then tip into Lt Yellow Orange to highlight.  Further highlight bricks by lightly drybrushing with Ivory Tusk.

4.       Evenly drybrush the stone trim in the brick and the windows with Light Gray.  Add highlights with by lightly drybrushing with White.

5.       Apply 2 coats of Nubian Brown to all wood trim.  Spray.  Drybrush with Cherokee Tan.  Highlight other areas as desired.  Add highlights above door with Lt Yellow Orange; tip into White to lightly highlight. 

6.       For the accent wood trim and oval windows on dormers, drybrush with Artichoke then tip into White to highlight.  Paint the trim next to accent wood with Flat Black.  For trim around windows, paint with Brick Red.  Refer to photo for color placements.

7.       To detail the wood duck, drybrush the head Artichoke, the belly Ivory Tusk, wing Cherokee Tan, accent with Brick Red, beak Lt Yellow Orange and paint neck ring Ivory Tusk.  For the bird, drybrush the belly/head Brick Red, wing Artichoke, tail Light Gray and the beak Lt Yellow Orange.

8.       Apply Bay Blue to the roof and chimneys.  Wipe back highlights with Solvent and soft cloth.  Spray.  Lightly drybrush highlights to chimneys with Light Gray.  Add variegated shingles with Brick Red, Artichoke and Cherokee Tan.

9.       For the ochre colored sections of sign, heavily drybrush with Light Umber.  Highlight with Lt Yellow Orange then tip into White to further highlight.  The green sections are heavily drybrushed with Artichoke then tip into White to highlight.  The red sections are heavily drybrushed with Brick Red then highlighted with Lt Yellow Orange.  Paint the door handle and question mark with Flat Black.  Lightly highlight with Light Gray.  Spray entire piece.

10.   Apply 2 coats of Sculptured Bronze to roof trims.  Apply Hi-gloss Sealer to the question mark on sign and black and brick red accent in wood trim.
