Black SS-23 Mink
SS-276 Forest Green General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque. Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail. When dry, apply another coat of undiluted White. Allow to dry. Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered. Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights. Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL. Reminder: In this technique, sometimes more than 1 coat of TL is necessary so between each coat, the color must be sprayed in order not to lift the first layer. Technique1. Apply Black TL to roof, hardware under cup, awnings supports, sidewalk, cobblestones and vents under windows. Wipe back roof, sidewalk and cobblestones. Spray. Randomly drybrush a few stones with Brick Red, Mink, Wedgewood Blue and Light Gray. Lightly highlight sidewalk and roof with Light Gray. 2. For the coffee cup, gable siding, inner panes of main windows – including the “x” squares and brick on body of the building, apply 1 coat of White Cloud even down into the cracks to create mortar illusion. Spray. Drybrush 3 more coats to these same areas to create an even white finish. If needed, drybrush White SS to even out color. Detail “x” box with Flat Black and Royal Fuchsia 3. Use 3 coats Hummelized Flesh for the donut, eaves and step out brick. Spray. Drybrush a hint of Brick Red to the step out bricks; then with a clean brush lightly highlight bricks and eaves with Buttermilk tipped into Mink. 4. Apply Brandied Raspberry to the frosting, window frames and every 4th awning stripe. Spray. Drybrush window frames and awning stripe with Royal Fuchsia; tip into Razzberri to highlight. Evenly drybrush frosting with Razzberri. 5. Detail donut sprinkles with Forest Green, Buttermilk and Royal Fuchsia. Use Royal Fuchsia, Forest Green, Limeburst and Flat Black for cup detail. 6. Use Black Forest on every other 4th awning stripe, doors and detail in main window frames. Spray. Refer to photo as needed for color placement. Evenly drybrush with Forest Green then tip into Limeburst to highlight. 7. Apply Flat Black to “x” box on doors and outer trim of main window. Paint the arrow trim on green areas of main window with White. The outer trim of the doors is Limeburst while the main trim work is Buttermilk. Refer to photo for color placement. Use Lemon Meringue to paint windows not cut out. Spray. 8. Heavily drybrush hardware under cup and vents under windows with Shimmering Silver. Use same color to paint door handles, “x” box on door and awning supports. |
