After the Trans-Continental Railway was completed, the local Pony Express Post was decommissioned and renovated into this Post Office fed by rail.  The mail traveled much faster now and the new Postal building was always bustling with activity.

  1. Begin with properly cleaned and fired 04-06 bisque.  Thin SS-135 White with 1/3 water.  Using a soft brush, scrub over entire piece, getting into all cracks and crevices.  When dry, apply a second coat of full strength color.  Antique the entire piece with TL-113 Hyacinth Blue.  Use a soft cloth dampened with AC-520 Solvent to wipe back highlights.  Spray with AC-516 Porcelain Mist and allow to dry.
  2. Apply TL-101 Brandied Raspberry to all of the siding and the sign front.  Gently wipe back some highlights.  Spray and allow to dry.
  3. Paint the trim, corners, porch posts and trim on sign with SS-183 Rich Peach.
  4. Apply TL-004 Black to both the building and porch roof.  Gently wipe back some highlights.   Spray and allow to dry.  In a random pattern paint some of the shingles with TL-112 Blue Smoke, RT-508 Aqua Patina, TL-106 Red Maple and RT-516 Red/Brown.  Blot with a soft cloth instead of wiping back.  Spray and allow to dry.
  5. Paint the chimney flue and the words “POST OFFICE” on the sign with SS-137 Jet Black.
  6. Apply TL-134 Black Forest to the grass.  Gently wipe back some highlights.  Use TL-125 Sunflower and TL-126 Tangelo to add some additional highlights.  Spray and allow to dry.
  7. Apply TL-108 Ginger Oak to the foundation and chimney stones.  In a random pattern, paint the stones with TL-112 Blue Smoke, TL-008 Nubian Brown, and TL-014 Slate Gray.  Spray and allow to dry.
  8. Paint the windows with SS-375 Ivory Tusk.
  9. Paint the front door with SS-57 Accent Green.  Paint the door hinges and back plate of the door knob with SS-137 Jet Black.  Paint the door knob with SS-135 White.
  10. Apply TL-006 Maple to the porch floor and steps.  Gently wipe back some highlights.  Spray and allow to dry.  Lightly dry brush highlights with SS-135 White.  Spray entire building and allow to dry
