The Drink & Sleep Inn in Marianville was built by Patty O'Furniture in 1862 in the style of old Ireland.  It was the first place for weary travelers to stay that also had a small tavern inside where you could get a large ale before retiring for the night.  The prices were quite reasonable.  A room with a window was just 35 cents and a hot bath was included.

PT-398 Rustic Brown

Paint the entire piece with 2 coats of White Acrylic. The first coat is diluted 2/3 stain to 1/3 water. The second coat is full strength. Spray and allow to dry. Antique with Black Brown Translucent. Wipe back to desired effect to allow for shading. Use solvent if you need to wipe off more. Spray and allow to dry.

Stucco on House:  Dry brush with Medium Gray . Now mix Medium Gray with White Acrylic and dry brush again for highlights. Use a dry brush with hardly any bristles for a pounding effect for shading.

Wooden Strips: Dry brush with Rustic Brown then highlight with Orange rust. Apply Green water base translucent to roof.  Wipe back to desired effect. Spray and allow to dry. Use Dark Umber on shingles randomly, then dry brush with Medium Mocha to tone down over entire roof.

Tin in Valleys: Apply Copper Penny to the tin in the valleys, then apply Light Patina after the Copper Penny dries. Wait until Patina gets tacky then wipe back and spray and allow to dry.

Stones: Apply Dust Gray, Medium Gray, Brick Red and Dark Umber randomly to the stones. Brick Red seemed to be very bold so I dry brushed Medium Mocha over just the Brick Red stones to tone them down.

Eaves and Main Beams: Dry brush with Dark Brown.

Doors and Windows: Apply Hunter Green to the doors and windows.

Sign: Paint with Copper Penny and let dry, then put Patina over and allow to dry. Wipe back and spray and allow to dry. Paint letters Flat Black.

Grass: Apply Black Forest to all the grass areas, high light with Tangelo and Sunflower. Wipe back to blend the colors to the desired effect and then spray and allow to dry.

Chimney Top, Hardware and Flat Stone in Front of Chimney. Apply Flat Black.

Concrete on Chimney: Paint the concrete with Dusty Gray.

Finally, spray entire piece and allow to dry. When using a translucent stain, you must spray between each application to set the stain so that it won’t smudge. You do not need to do this with the acrylics.

Note: If you find a color that is discontinued, ask your Mayco distributor for a suitable replacement.
