The addition of a schoolhouse to any village is proof that the town is maturing. The population is increasing, and the children need a more worldly education. The schoolhouse in Marianville is built from clapboard siding and a solid stone foundation. You can almost hear the Schoolmarm ringing the bell to call the children in from recess. AC-516 Porcelain Mist Spray Apply two coats of White Acrylic Stain to the entire piece and all accessories. First coat dilute 2/3 stain to 1/3 water and second coat is full strength. Allow to dry and spray with Porcelain Mist Spray. Antique entire piece and all accessories with Hyacinth Blue Translucent Stain. Wipe back with a soft cloth allowing for shading and detail. Spray with Porcelain Mist Spray and allow to dry. Roof of Schoolhouse and Roof of Cupola: Apply Black Translucent Stain to both roofs. Wipe back with a soft cloth allowing for shading and detail. Dry brush very lightly with Eggshell and Vanilla Ice. Chimney Pipe: Apply Dark Pewter to the chimney, after it is dry, dry brush with Sterling Silver Acrylic Stain. Paint Jet Black Acrylic Stain in the rectangular insets at the top of the chimney and around the top to make it look like soot. Grass: Apply Black Forest Translucent Stain to all the grass, apply Tangelo and Sunflower for highlights, wipe back with a soft cloth to desired effect. If need be add more Tangelo or Sunflower for further highlights and then wipe back with a soft cloth and spray with Porcelain Mist Spray. Wood on Schoolhouse, Window Panes, Support Poles for Cupola, Front Door and Wooden Base on Cupola: Paint Slate Gray to all the wooden areas and allow to dry. Using a soft bristle brush, apply Weathered Crackle over the Slate Gray Acrylic Stain. After the Weathered Crackle is dry, using a soft bristle brush, paint White Acrylic Stain over the Weathered Crackle. Apply the White sparingly. The more you brush out the White Acrylic Stain the more distressed the look will be. Dirt: Dry brush Dark Umber to the dirt area under the steps. Highlight by dry brushing with Eggshell and White Acrylic Stains respectively. Sign: Backboard of sign is White Acrylic Stain, lettering is painted with Jet Black Acrylic Stain and frame of sign is dry brushed with Deep Gray Green. Roof Over Door, Eaves, Door Frame, Window Frames and Steps: Using a soft bristle brush, paint with Slate Gray Acrylic Stain. After it is dry, using a soft bristle brush apply Weathered Crackle and allow to dry. Paint all areas with Deep Gray Green Acrylic Stain and then lightly dry brush with White. Stones: Using a soft bristle brush, apply Ginger Oak Translucent Stain to all the stone areas. Wipe back with a soft cloth to desired effect, spray and allow to dry. Now, randomly paint some stones with Toasted Pecan, Blue Smoke, Coal Gray and Red Maple Translucent Stains. Do not wipe back, just blot a little bit. Spray and allow to dry. Hardware: Paint with Flat Black Acrylic Stain. Caps on Cupola Roof: Paint with Sterling Silver. Bell: Paint with Dark Pewter Acrylic Stain and then dry brush very lightly with Jet Black for detail. Spray entire piece and allow to dry.

AC-516 Porcelain Mist Spray Paint the entire piece and all accessories with White Acrylic Stain. First coat dilute 2/3 stain to 1/3 water and second coat is full strength. Allow to dry and spray with Porcelain Mist Spray. Antique entire piece and all accessories with the Brown Black Translucent Stain. Wipe back with a soft cloth allowing for shading and detail. Spray with Porcelain Mist Spray and allow to dry. Walls, Cupola Base and Door: Apply Red Rich Translucent water base stain with a soft bristle brush, wipe back with a soft rag to desired effect, spray with Porcelain Mist Spray and allow to dry. Roof of Schoolhouse, Porch Roof and Roof of Cupola: Apply Grey Rich Translucent water base stain with a soft bristle brush, wipe back with a soft rag to desired effect, spray with Porcelain Mist Spray and allow to dry. Dry brush very lightly with White Acrylic Stain to highlight the roof areas. Dirt and Steps: Dry brush the dirt and steps with Dark Umber Acrylic Stain to desired effect. Dry brush Medium Mocha to the dirt and steps to highlight then highlight further with Dusty Gray Acrylic Stain dry brushed very lightly on the centers of the steps and dirt to make it look like it is well worn. Eaves, Gable Ends: Dry brush with White Acrylic Stain to desired effect. Windows, Door Frame, Support Poles for Cupola, Frame for Base of Cupola and the Four Shingle Caps on the Cupola : Paint solidly with White Acrylic Stain. Grass: Apply Black Forest Translucent Stain to all the grass area, apply Tangelo Translucent Stain and Sunflower Translucent Stain for highlights and wipe all back with a soft cloth to desired effect. If need be add more Tangelo or Sunflower for further highlights, wipe back with a soft cloth and spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry. Chimney: Paint the chimney with Dark Pewter Acrylic Stain and apply Flat Black Acrylic Stain to the rectangular insets at the top of the chimney for depth. Sign: Apply Red Rich Translucent to the back board of the sign, spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry. Now, dry brush the frame and the letters of the sign with White Acrylic Stain. Stones: Randomly paint the stones with Vanilla Ice, Brick Red, Medium Mocha and Dusty Gray Acrylic Stains. Hardware on Door: Paint with Flat Black Acrylic Stain. Bell: Paint with Dark Pewter Acrylic Stain. Spray entire piece and allow to dry. Note: If you find a color that is discontinued, ask your Mayco distributor for a suitable replacement. |
