important place in every town during the 1800's for the local farmers, builders,
house keepers, and more! There was virtually something for everyone in the
general store. Why, even the children could get an all-day sucker, if they
were good in church and helped with the chores.

- Apply two coats of White Acrylic to entire piece.
First coat dilute 1/3 water to 2/3 White Acrylic Stain. Second coat apply
full strength. Allow to dry, spray with Porcelain Mist Spray and allow to
dry.
- Apply a coat of Hyacinth Blue Translucent to entire
piece and wipe back with a soft cloth to desired effect allowing for shading
and detail. Spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry.
- Apply Rich Brown Rich Translucent to the roof. Wipe
back with a soft cloth to the desired effect, spray and allow to dry.
- Apply Black Forest Translucent to the grass and
highlight with Sunflower Translucent and Tangelo Translucent, wipe back with
a soft cloth to blend the colors and to achieve the desired effect. Spray
and allow to dry.
- Using translucent stains, dry brush the stones in a
random pattern using Ginger Oak Translucent, Red Maple Translucent, Peach
Cameo Translucent, Coal Gray Translucent, Toasted Pecan Translucent and Rich
Walnut Translucent. Now spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry.
- The walls of the general store are heavily dry
brushed with Christmas Red Acrylic Stain.
- The wood trim and the windows are dry brushed with
Light Portrait Acrylic Stain.
- The porch floor and the steps painted with Rich
Brown Rich Translucent, spray and allow to dry.
- Doors are lightly dry brushed with Evergreen
Translucent Stain, spray and allow to dry.
- On the sign the background is heavily dry brushed
with Light Portrait and the lettering "GENERAL STORE" is painted
in Jet Black Acrylic.
- The knobs and hinges are painted Jet Black Acrylic
- The porch poles and the skull are dry brushed with
Light Portrait.
- The chimney cap is painted Flat Black Acrylic.

- Apply two coats of White Acrylic to entire piece.
First coat dilute with water 2/3 White Acrylic to 1/3 water. Scrub this into
the piece being sure to get into all cracks and crevices. Second coat apply
full strength White Acrylic. Allow to dry, then spray with Porcelain Mist,
allow to dry.
- Apply Black Brown Translucent to entire piece and
wipe back to desired effect, allow for shading. Spray and allow to dry.
- Apply Blue Smoke Translucent over all the wooden
siding, wipe back to desired effect and then spray with Porcelain Mist and
allow to dry.
- Use Red Brown Rich Translucent to the roof and wipe
back, spray and allow to dry.
- Heavily dry brush White Acrylic to the windows and
doors.
- Heavily dry brush Dark Umber Acrylic to the porch
and the poles. Now lightly dry brush the porch and poles with Medium Mocha
Acrylic and Dusty Gray Acrylic to highlight.
- Dry brush Medium Mocha Acrylic to the steps then
lightly dry brush with Dusty Gray Acrylic to highlight.
- Apply Black Forest Translucent to all of the grass,
then highlight with Sunflower Translucent and Tangelo Translucent. Using a
soft cloth blend all the colors together and wipe back. Spray with Porcelain
Mist spray and allow to dry.
- All stones are dry brushed in a random pattern using
Dusty Gray Acrylic, Golden Ochre Acrylic, Medium Mocha Acrylic and Dark
Umber Acrylic.
- Dry brush all corners with Dark Umber. Lightly dry
brush White Acrylic over the trim around the GENERAL STORE sign. The
lettering "GENERAL STORE" is painted with White Acrylic.
- Top of chimney is Flat Black Acrylic to center then
dry brush Dusty Gray Acrylic to the remainder of the chimney top.
- Under the roof eaves, streak with White Acrylic,
then use a small amount of Medium Mocha Acrylic to blend and give an old
weathered look to the wood.
Note: If you find a color that is discontinued, ask your
Mayco distributor for a suitable replacement.
