The Marianville Train Station is a sturdy brick building with an external ticket booth and a copper capped clock tower to keep the daily 3:15 on time. The convenient baggage doors allow for a speedy departure and in the rear are the main cargo doors where the armored cars unload the bank’s deposits, not to mention the many sacks of letters from the mail car.

Technique 1 (Advanced) Supplies (By Mayco Colors):
General (both techniques): Base coat fired 04-06 bisque with 2 coats of White Acrylic. Thin first coat with 1/3 water. Using a soft brush, scrub over entire piece, getting into all cracks and crevices. Apply a second coat of White Acrylic full strength. After each application of a translucent stain (TL), spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry. This will set the color to avoid smudging. 1. Apply Hyacinth Blue to the entire piece. Let dry until tacky. Wipe back with Solvent and a soft cloth. Allow for shading and detail. Spray. 2. Apply Holiday Red to all bricks, including chimney. Randomly apply small amounts of Tangelo to bricks and chimney. Allow for shading. Wipe back to achieve an old and weathered effect. Spray 3. Randomly Paint a few bricks with White Cloud and Black TL. Blot with soft cloth. Spray. 4. Apply Red Maple to wooden platform, stairs, baggage and back doors, ramp and wooden siding on the clock tower and gable ends of the roof . Wipe back to desired effect. Spray. 5. Apply a light coat of Black Brown to the platform and front door. Wipe back. Spray. 6. Dry brush platform, stairs, baggage and back doors, ramp and wooden siding on gables and clock tower with Rustic Brown to enhance details. 7. Apply Black Brown to roof and clock tower roof. Wipe back. Spray. Dry brush all roofing with Sterling Silver, then Flat Black to give the appearance of old, weathered wooden shakes. 8. Apply Evergreen to front door. Wipe back. Spray. 9. Heavily dry brush front door curtains and paint "Office" letters with White Acrylic. 10. All Marianville Signs: With a soft brush, paint background with Gray Blue and frame with Hunter Green. Paint letters with Orange Rust using a detail brush. 11. Paint baggage and back door handles and lock, and the metal clock frame with Flat Black. Paint clock face with Vanilla Ice. 12. Apply 24-K Gold to clock tower roof cap, front doorknob and mailbox. Also paint clock hands, numerals, and ticket and baggage sign back plates with 24-K Gold. Detail sign lettering with Flat Black. 13. Heavily dry brush all of the following with White Acrylic: Eaves, clock tower batten boards, window frames, baggage door frame and sill, roof brackets, and wooden trim on ticket window. 14.
Spray the entire piece with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry.
Technique 2 (Novice)
General: Base coat fired 04-06 bisque with 2 coats of White Acrylic. Thin the first coat with 1/3 water. Using a soft brush, scrub over entire piece, getting into all cracks and crevices. Apply a second coat of White Acrylic full strength. After each application of a translucent stain (TL), spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry. This will set the color to avoid smudging. 1. Apply Black Brown Translucent Stain over the entire piece. Allow to dry until tacky. Wipe back to desired effect. Spray. 2. Using a soft bristle brush, apply Forest Green to the roof. Wipe back with a soft cloth, allow for highlights. Spray. 3. Dry brush the roof with Bright Green to bring out the detail and allow for shading and highlights. 4. Using a soft bristle brush apply Red Brown Rich Translucent Stain to all the bricks including the chimney. Wipe back to desired effect and spray. 5. Sporadically add Tangelo to the bricks and wipe back allowing for shading and depth. Spray. 6. Dry brush the wooden gable ends, the wood on the clock tower, the steps and the platform with Dark Umber. Dry brush Eggshell over the Dark Umber to highlight. 7. Apply Medium Mocha to the eaves, roof brackets, doors and ticket window frame. Heavily dry brush these areas with Eggshell then again with White Acrylic to highlight. 8. The curtains on the front door are dry brushed with Light Yellow Orange. 9. All Marianville signs: Dry brush Light Yellow Orange Acrylic Stain to the background of the signs. Heavily dry brush Teal Acrylic Stain to the trim around the signs and paint the letters Flat Black using a small detail brush. 10. The signs for "BAGGAGE" and "TICKETS" – the back plate is painted Copper Penny with a soft bristle brush and the letters are painted Flat Black Acrylic using a small detail brush. The clock face and the cap of the tower are also painted with Copper Penny. 11. Using a small detail brush apply Flat Black Acrylic Stain to all the door knobs and hinges. 12. Spray entire piece with Porcelain Mist Spray and allow to dry.
