The Bakery, in Marianville, is the one place that smells like mom's kitchen.  This half-timber pastry shoppe looks as though it was taken right out of old-world Germany.  You can almost smell the freshly baked bread wafting throughout the village.

1902 Bakery

General:. Base coat fired 04-06 bisque with 2 coats of White Acrylic. Thin first coat with 1/3 water. Using a soft brush, scrub over entire piece, getting into all cracks and crevices. Apply a second coat of White Acrylic full strength. After each application of a translucent stain (TL), spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry. This will set the color to avoid smudging.

1. Coat entire piece with Hyacinth Blue. Wipe back to desired effect. Spray. Dry brush White Cloud to stucco. Spray.

2. Paint timbers Red Maple. Spray.

3. Apply Holiday Red to roof. Wipe back. Spray. Dry brush Frosted Cherry over the Holiday Red to highlight and spray.

4. Apply Frosted Cherry to shutters. Spray. Paint signs Ginger Oak. Spray. Paint letters with Flat Black.

5. Apply Black Forest to grass, wipe back. Highlight with Tangelo, Sunflower, Holiday Red and Lush Green. Wipe back to desired effect. Spray.

6. Dry brush windows heavily with White Acrylic.

7. Apply Cream to stones, wipe back lightly. Spray. Randomly paint stones with Warm Tan, Gray, Rich Brown, and Dark Gray Blue. Spray. When dry, dry brush very lightly all the stones with Flat Black.

8. Paint Stove Pipe Ebony. Spray entire piece, allow to dry.

 

Technique 2  (Novice)

PT-395 Dusty Gray
TL-101 Brandied Raspberry
TL-105 Sable
TL-107 Antique Ivory
TL-109 Rich Walnut
TL-116 White Cloud
TL-125 Sunflower
TL-126 Tangelo
TL-129 Coal Gray
TL-134 Black Forest

1. Apply Sable to piece and wipe back to desired effect. Shade and antique as desired. When you have the desired effect, spray entire piece with Porcelain Mist.

2. Mix Antique Ivory with White Cloud to get the desired color and apply to all stucco parts, allow to dry until tacky and wipe back to desired effect. Spray.

3. Paint wooden timbers with Rich Walnut. Spray.

4. Paint roof trim, shutters and the doors Brandied Raspberry. Paint hinges Flat Black. Paint sign Brandied Raspberry. Allow to set a few minutes and wipe back to desired effect. Paint lettering with a heavy coat of Brandied Raspberry. Spray.

5. Apply Coal Gray to roof, allow to dry a few minutes and then wipe back to desired effect. Spray.

6. Apply Black Forest to grass with highlights of Sunflower and Tangelo. Wipe back to desired effect. Spray. When dry, dry brush entire roof with Medium Gray and apply Medium Gray to chimney.

7. Dry brush stones in a random pattern using Vanilla Ice, Medium Mocha, Brick Red, and Dusty Gray. Spray, let dry.

* People, lamp posts, and other props used for photography are not available in ceramic molds.

Note: If you find a color that is discontinued, ask your Mayco distributor for a suitable replacement.
