THANKS
by Eddie Abramoski
I really enjoyed reading up on all my classmates. They seemed to be all ove the United States. I often wondered about what was going on with the Class of '51, but I was nebver able to attend the reunions because they were held in July or August and we were in football training (Bufallo Bills) camp at that time.
Maybe I'll get to go in a couple of years as I am reaching retirement ate and 35+ years is enough doing at one job! I am making a memoria donation to Sina Morris. Wina was a god high school friend.
Thanks for giving all of the Class of 1951 such happy memories. (Editor: Ed Abramowski is a Head Trainer for the 1991-94 NFL Champions Buffalo Bills.)
TRAVEL
Audrey Wyant Harriger favorite trips were to Longmont, Colorado (1990) by herself and a trip to Oregon (1987) with her sister. "But my favorite trips are when I go back home to Erie. That will always be home."
Letter to the Editor:
Dear Editor,
Congratulations on your great newsletter. Wish you had started it forty years sooner. Your idea of putting the picture by the article really helps to jog the memory of that person. ---Janet Sonney Roberts
Dear Janet,
Without articles like yours, and generous donations from classmates of '51, there would be no newsletter. I would have started it forty years ago, but I needed 40 years to work up the fever to "bug" Don Bartos.
DC
Dear Classmates,
I want to personally thank all of you who contributed information for articles to the newsletter. I enjoyed
reading about you and your families. I am enclosing a photo of the "Choir Hayride--January 30, 1951. It is with Olga Tupitza, Gloria (Kaya) Evanoff, and Dan Conley on the dance floor." LOST AND FOUND:

by: Audrey Wyant Harriger Dear Editor;
Received the Spring Newsletter. They get more interesting each time. I have an ideafor the newsletter! Why don't we have a "Before" and "After" of all alumni. We really cana't imagine how we look 43 years latet. I think it would be very interesting. (I am sending a little donation and hope it helps a little. Keep up th tood work.) By the way, is there any way of getting names and addresses of Alumni living in California?
----Jean Stolarski Walkiewicz
Dear Jean,
The Directory that was to be provided cannot be published until we get more classmates return their information sheets. Less than 50% of the class returned them. As soon as we get them back, a Directory of all classmates will be mailed to everyone.

Traveling
by Janet Sonney Roberts
Elma, New York
Being married to a man who's always ready to go at a moments notice, we have reached a compromise. We have traveled through most of the US starting with a pick-up camper and now we have a 30 foot Winnebago. Five years ago my oldest daughter moved to Florida so our vactions now comprise a two month stay in the Sunshie Stte over terh holidays.
We really would like to build a woiknter home in Flroida, but I like the four seasons.
"Spring", with the crocuses, tulips, hyacinths and daffodidls poking throught the ground to remind us that winter is over.
"Summer" means sipping coffee outside after dinner, leaning over the fence talking to neighbors.
"Fall" is watching the leaves turn shades or red and gold and seing them drifts softly to the ground. Biting into a crisp apple, carving a big pumpkin.
"Winter" is bare trees, cold gray days, fires in the fireplace, and then the magic of snow. Soft snow crunchy
snow, sparkly snow. Cold nose, cold toes.
Ah, but the cycle starts again!
My idea of a good time, just sitting and watching the grass grow. Our travels around the country have shown me, there is no place like home.

March 22, 1907---January 24, 1994 by Janet Sonney Roberts
When I readd the recent obituary of Beatrice Shevick it brought back many visions of East High. Being born during the depression, the youngest of five children, and living through World War II rationing, there were not too many extras growing up, but it cost nothing to appreciate what others had. It was always a joy to see Mrs. Shevick wearing her brightly colored dresses and matching shoes. She was the first person I have ever seen wearing bright, red high heels. She even had purple shoes!!! I can't remember what she
taught, but Ican rember vividly her pretty clothes and the costume jewelry she wore.
Today I have a drawer full of costume jewelry, and a closet full of shoes in every color of the rainbow.
These day I mostly wwear my Reebok's or slippers, but if the occasion ever calls for peach colored shoes, I'm ready. (Editor: I believe Bea Shevick taught both Civics and French. Funny that you mentioned peach shoes if the occasion called for it. Don Bartos said, "So do I!")
UPDATE:

East were really enjoyable. I always planned to play hooky, but
never found a time when skipping classes looked like more fun than
just staying in school." "Naicknames seem to grow on me.
Warriors called me "Tubba". At In college I shomehow picked up
"Humphrey" after the Joe Palooka cartoon character known for the
substantial quanntity of food he consumed. Here at work I was
dubbed "Beaver" as a result of my Scouting activities and events

identify in a part of my life someone came from by how I'm
called." "By the way, I'd sure like to nkow what George Driebeles,
Bob Adair and Neysa Muffie are doing. I don't recall seeing any

Phil Walizer
Letter to the Editor:
I now have a personal mailing address in the state of Utah and the
WARRIOR '51 just caught up with me. I wish to receive copies of
it. I enjoy reading about our classmates.
I do have a request. Over the years my yearbook has been lost. I
suppose after all these years no one would have or know where one
could be had. Maybe in our newsletter you could ask if anyone can
help . Lookin forward to hearing from you.
Phil Walizer
Dear Phil, Possibly you may get a response to your letter.
Sometimes younger siblings are willing to part with yearbooks when
they were underclassmen. For example, Ron Uglow's sister Nancy
was willing to part with a '52 Yearbook. Possibly a spouse of a
deceased classmate might be willing give you the '51 yearbook. If
all else fails, write to me and I will Xerox the '51 yearbook that
Chuck Harrington "loaned" me when we started the WARRIOR '51.
